495E. Redhead hen from Ontario. Hollow carved and very light with a thin bottom board. Attractive form. Paint is a combination of some original and some old gunning touchup. Small old minor slivers on sides of bill. Small flake and hairline grain check on left side of head. Old partially legible collector notation on bottom states Saginaw Bay - - -. 200-400 495F. Stylish and alert black duck from the Quebec or Vallyeld area. Classic regional deeply carved wings primaries and fluted tail. Body and head are nicely rasped. Strong original paint with only light scuffs from use. Some neck filler replaced with restored paint in that area. One or two small shot hits. Bottom has a large and a small hole drilled in it to reduce weight aka Peterborough Canoe Co. type decoy. 250-450 495G. Very attractive green-winged teal hen by Jesse Baker 1888-1961 of Trenton Ontario. Finely crackled original paint shows very light wear under a protective coat of sealer. Bluebill drake from Burlington Bay Hamilton Ontario. Head arched slightly back over body on a partially raised neck seat. Nice combed vermiculation on back. In a combination of some original and some finely crackled old gunning touchup. Retains original keel and weight. 150-200 495I. Canvasback drake by Ken Anger. Classic Anger craftsmanship. White paint was added to the top of the body by Dr. Reid as it would decoy the wild birds better. 150-300 495J. Canvasback drake by Dr. Reid Fort Erie Ontario Canada. Carving obviously influenced by the work of Ken Anger. Slightly oversized with a well carved bill and head. Carved shoulder separation with wing and wingtip detail. Rasping to head. Original paint with overall light gunning wear. 100-200 495K. Bufflehead drake possibly by one of the Angers of Dunnville Ontario. Tucked head with carving detail to wingtips and primaries. Original paint with light wear and scratches does not appear to be by Anger.
