256. Pair of bluebills by R. Madison Mitchell. Strong original paint with minimal wear. Both show minor surface imperfections. Overall a very nice matched pair. Drake is signed in electric pencil R. Madison Mitchell 1978. 400-600 257. Lot of two decoys from the shop of R. Madison Mitchell. The bufehead hen has the head turned slightly to the right. Original paint with minimal scuffs. Thin partial crack at left neck base. Not signed. Other is a drake goldeneye in original paint with nice feather detail. Surface shows age imperfections. Tight grain check on left side. The lack of a white circle on the cheek may indicate an immature bird. Signed in electric pencil R. Madison Mitchell 1972. 350-550 257A. Pair of redheads by R. Madison Mitchell. In excellent original condition. 400-600 258. Pair of blue-winged teal by R. Madison Mitchell. Hen has head turned to the left. Both are in ne original paint with minimal wear. Drake has some small drips of white paint on head and breast and hen has one small white paint smudge on bottom. Both signed and dated in electric pencil Drake R. Madison Mitchell 1968 hen R. Madison Mitchell 1970. Hen also signed in black ink. 400-600 259. Pair of green-winged teal by R. Madison Mitchell. Both heads turned slightly to the right. Both in excellent original paint. Hen has a tight crack in the neck under the paint that appears to have been corrected when the bird was carved. Drake has one small drip of white paint on the bill. Both are signed and dated in electric pencil R. Madison Mitchell 1968. 400-600 260. Pair of canvasbacks by R. Madison Mitchell. Hen may be of an earlier vintage than the drake. Drakes head turned to the right. Both in original paint with very light wear. Hen shows slightly more wear than the drake. Crack in neck of hen with tight grain checks on back and tail.
