132. Black duck from Canada. Solid body with scratched feather detail on body and head. Original paint with light gunning wear. Some light aking and rubs to bill. 300-500 133. Canvasback drake c1940s by Harry Rittenhouse of Saint Catharines Ontario Canada. Combed and blended vermiculation on back with nicely carved bill. Excellent original paint and condition. Consignor information along with printed notations on the bottom of the decoy indicates that Rittenhouse was a guidepunter and carver at the Henry Ford duck marsh on Lake St. Clair. 350-550 133A. Mallard drake with tack eyes circa late 1800s. Collectors label attributes it to George Warin though it appears to be more like the work of a member of the Reeves family. In the low head at rest position. All original with in use wear the most of which is in the upper area of the head plus the usual crazing and age imperfections found on a decoy made in the 1800s. Struck by shot. Hollowed to a thin shell. Typical St. Clair Flats design with an approximately 14 bottom board. Three generations of the Reeves family Phineas 1833-1896 John 1860-1896 and Charles 1877-1941 were employed as guides and decoy carvers for the Long Point Company 1866-1960 a private duck club on the North shore of Lake Erie. 600-900 134. Black duck from the Brockville area of Ontario. Very boldly carved bill ares nicely at the tip. Mostly original paint with triple scratched feather detail on body and painted detail on head. Some scuffs and rubs on body some of the larger of which have been darkened. Note on bottom identies Ferman Eyre as maker. 200-300 135. Black duck by Ernie Fox of Brockville Ontario Canada. Nice double scratched feather detail on body with painted feather detail on head. Excellent original paint and condition. Signed on the base. 200-350 136. Bluebill hen from the St. Clair ats area. Hollow carved with a thin bottom board. Uniquely conceived head on a low half neck seat. Old gunning repaint with wear and a large area on back and left side stripped to reveal traces of the original and the hot brand of BHC. Crack in rear of head and old repair to bill. Bottom has the initials REH painted and partially outlined with drill holes. 200-400 137. Mallard drake by Charles Reeves of the Long Point Shooting Company. Solid carved with classic Reeves form. Strong original paint with a scattering of light rubs and minor overall gunning wear. Head slightly loose. Very lightly hit by shot on lower right side.
