306. Ward Bishop’s Head Black Duck Hen. Bishop’s Head Gun Club black duck hen c1920-1930 by Lem and Steve Ward of Crisfield, MD. Despite its age it is in excellent unused original condition with minor age imperfections. Note that the Ward Brothers differentiated the hens from the drakes with the color of the bill being yellow for the female and green for the male. Only the finest makers such as Crowell, Lincoln and the Ward Brothers would take the time and effort to add a subtle detail. Head turned sharply to the right. Well executed loop feather paint. Typical for this rig is the extended shelf tail. 18,000-24,000 alternate view detail 95
